Ingredients: Raisins, currants, mixed peel, brown sugar, eggs, flour, vegetable shortening, breadcrumbs, apples, orange & lemon zest, spices (cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, cardamom & allspice) stout & rum.
RECIPE FOR RUM BUTTER (HARD SAUCE)
3 oz Butter softened
3 oz Soft Brown Sugar or confectioner's sugar
1 ½ - 2 oz. Rum or brandy if you prefer
Blend the butter & sugar together until well mixed. While soft add rum, beat well, when fully mixed, refrigerate, will keep for several days.
